The Need:
Southeast South Dakota Tourism Association promotes travel throughout the region and the businesses, communities, and attractions that rely on visitor spending.
The organization’s existing brand identity and marketing materials had become outdated and no longer reflected the personality, professionalism, and forward momentum of the association. A refreshed visual identity and marketing approach were needed to modernize the brand, strengthen regional recognition, and better inspire travelers to explore all that Southeast South Dakota has to offer.
The Work:
I lead the development of a refreshed brand identity while working closely with the executive director and marketing assistant to guide the organization’s overall marketing strategy.
My work spans many areas, including creating written and visual content, managing social media and email marketing, contributing to website development, and producing a variety of visitor guides and promotional materials that showcase the region’s attractions.
I also fulfill advertising opportunities for members, working directly with them to tell their story through the organization’s marketing platforms.
The Result:
The refreshed brand and ongoing marketing efforts have strengthened the visibility of Southeast South Dakota as a travel destination, driving traffic and increasing visitor spending. Just as importantly, the organization has grown into a more recognized and respected destination marketing organization, expanding membership and creating new opportunities for the businesses and communities it represents.
